For those of you that work with me, you know that subclinical or hidden inflammation and/or infection in the body is both a significant contributor to the onset of cancer as well a major hindrance to healing from it.

If you haven’t worked with me, then this might be news to you along with the fact the teeth and gums are often a source of this unknown inflammation and/or infection.

While a visit to a biological dentist may frequently be an essential part of a cancer healing journey, let me give an easy

though perhaps weird sounding “do-it-yourself” technique.  With it, you can clean up some of the germs and toxic waste products typically found in the mouth.

The technique is called oil pulling and it is an ancient practice from Ayurvedic medicine which can be done in 5-20 minutes a day. As with many other ancient practices, modern science is validating its efficacy.

Candida and Strep are often found in the mouth and along with their toxic waste products, contribute to the spread of bacteria from the mouth to the rest of the body – something that continually taxes the immune system.  Oil pulling cleans the mouth by removing bacteria, viruses, fungi and other toxins from it.

So how do you do it?

Oil pulling involves taking a tablespoon of coconut oil and swishing it around you mouth and drawing it through your teeth. Most people start with just a few minutes and then work up to 20 minutes. Eventually, the oil will become thinner and milkier and that’s the time to spit it out and rinse your mouth with water. Don’t swallow the toxin-ladened oil. Most people do this practice before breakfast but you can do it any time that works for you.

Consider this as another tool in healing toolkit.
