If you listen to the hype that supports this push, it might seem like a “no-brainer” to get the shot. The elderly, young children, those with chronic or serious health conditions or compromised immune systems all need this additional protection and immune boost right? And surely if the government is so strongly promoting the shot year after year, it must have a great track record as far as safety and effectiveness, right?
Well, unfortunately neither of the answers is a simply yes. Indeed, as you look beyond the hype, you might discover that those answers for yourself are a no. Far from boosting immune function, vaccines of all natures typically stress and burden the immune system. And if you or your loved one has or is dealing with cancer, you know that your immune system is key to becoming and remaining cancer free – regardless of the type of treatment you have chosen.
Since it is part of Evicting Cancer’s mission to support you in making informed and empowered choices, I am offering factual information for your consideration.
Here is Part I: the concerns about flu shots. These findings come from medical research and from the findings of integrative healthcare professionals. The statistics from the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) and from the International Medical Council on Vaccination (IMCV) might even shock you. So what is so bad about the flu shot anyway? Let me share what I’ve discovered.
If a flu shot (or another indiscriminately given vaccination) actually adversely affected your cancer journey, you’d never be able to specifically identify this and make a claim. But did you know that that there were so many lawsuits against vaccine companies and health care providers that it threatened to cause vaccine shortages?
Wow- that could raise some concerns about the safety of the vaccines!
But rather than incentivize the drug companies to improve upon the safety of their vaccines so those claims would be greatly minimized- the answer was to create The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, a no-fault alternative to the traditional legal system for resolving vaccine injury petitions. This, in essence, absolves the drug companies of any liability associated with the use of their vaccines. Instead the federal government bears this burden and it is our tax dollars that fund this compensation program while it is our loved ones and ourselves that deal with the conditions that create the claims.
Are any of these claims really proven valid by the time they go through the official claim settlement process? Let’s visit the statistics again. Since the program was established in the 1980’s, only 20% of claims were refuted and over 3.4 billion dollars have been paid out in compensation (and that’s our money – not the drug companies).
OK – so now we have some idea of the potential dangers of the flu shot. Maybe you still think that getting the flu shot is worth the price of its downside because the last thing you need when fighting cancer is a bad bout of the flu.
Next week?
