I am so excited to share with you, a special 6-part blog series that really is a must-read if you or a loved one is going through chemotherapy and/or radiation or has done so in the past.
Because I wanted you to be aware of the importance of this series, you will actually receive 2 blog posts this week- the first being this letter and the second, which will be posted tomorrow, will be the first article in the series: 5 Ways to Protect Yourself from the Side Effects of Chemo and/or Radiation.
Why am I sharing this series now?
Well, after the indulgences of the holiday season, many people start thinking about dietary improvements for 2017 and also about detoxifying their bodies from the over consumption of sugar and other rich holiday goodies. If you or someone you love is dealing with cancer, those holiday indulgences come at a higher price with regards to health.
Since detoxification drinks and packaged cleanses are quite in vogue, expect to see, in the early days of 2017, a lot of detoxification options and ads on the internet, in magazines and on celebrity shows.
Ironically, where you probably won’t hear anything about safe and effective detoxification protocols is at your oncologist’s office or hospital. Yet, protecting yourself from the unavoidable toxic effects of chemotherapy and radiation during and after treatment is really an essential step on a cancer-healing journey. Targeted detoxifying of the residues of treatment will reduce or sometimes even alleviate lingering difficulties like neuropathies, “chemobrain”, frequent infections, fatigue and more. It will also support better function of vital organ systems, including your immune system– which is your major defense against cancer progression and/or reoccurrence.
I’ve the opportunity to receive training in this from a combination of integrative physicians, naturopaths and nutritionists, all of whom have expertise in and understanding of the necessity and power of doing so. Unfortunately, I’m not sure why detoxifying after chemotherapy and radiation is addressed by so few healthcare professionals.
Back to the blog series…
So, in this weekly series, I
So, please look for and read these 6 weekly blog articles that will start tomorrow. I am so passionate about empowering you to make informed choices, to be pro-active and to turn your cancer challenge into a true healing journey.
With blessing for a healthy 2017 and beyond,
PS: If you know someone else who is going through or has completed chemotherapy – even if was months or years ago, do them a favor and share this empowering and critical information with them. Just like mercury and other heavy metals can stay in the body for decades, without extra measures, a certain amount of chemo and radiation residue do the same. So if you find the articles helpful, please post them on your facebook page or email them to those you know are dealing with cancer.
