Because we are inundated with an abundance of physical toxins these days, many of these cancer-healing tips focus on ways to clean up your outer environment while protecting your inner one.
Sometimes, however, we can forget, that healing involves more than physical measures. Kelly Turner, PhD, researched more than 1,000 cases of people who either healed from cancer without any Western medicine, or used a combination of Western and alternative medicine to successfully defy an advance cancer diagnosis; a diagnosis which gave less than a 25% chance of a five year survival.
In her book, Radical Remission: Surviving Cancer Against all Odds, Kelly identified 9 key healing factors that these people had in common. Only two of them (diet and supplementation) were physically-based. The other seven factors were of an emotional or spiritual nature – reminding us of the power of thoughts and emotions on our immune system and overall healing. So, please make detoxifying your non-serving beliefs, judgments (towards self and others), engaging in any necessary forgiveness work (again for self or others), and finding your authentic voice, relationships and lifestyle, priorities on your cancer healing journey.
How did she come upon these healing factors?
While getting her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkley, Dr. Turner, a researcher, lecturer, and counselor in integrative oncology, was shocked to discover that no one was studying episodes of radical (or unexpected) remission—when people recover against all odds without the help of conventional medicine, or after conventional medicine has failed. She was so fascinated by this kind of remission that she embarked on a ten month trip around the world, traveling to ten different countries to interview fifty holistic healers and twenty radical remission cancer survivors about their healing practices and techniques.
Kelly defines Radical Remission as any cancer remission that is statistically unexpected
